Hiking

Dades Valley:
In the area around Boumalne Dades (Dades Valley), which is located in the Atlas Mountains, are a lot of interesting  and unique hiking spots. The Mountains there look completly different from what you know from the alps or the High Atlas.

From our place (Hiking Nomads Guesthouse) or any other place near by we can take you to stunning hiking trips. Our new special offer is a hiking trip to the nomads where you can have a real experience while sleeping in a cave. Cooking like they do, sleeping like they do – living the life of them for two days.

Depending on your budget and time we can plan an individual tour based on your hiking experience. Everything between 3-4 hours in the afternoon or a trip up to six days is possible.

Jebel Toubkal:
The Jebel Toubkal is with 4167 m the highest mountain of Morocco and north Africa. It is located in the High Atlas Mountains around 60 km southeast of Marrakesh. In the winter month you find it covered in snow. The needed level of experience is low and therefore a great mountain to get into hiking. Yet we definitely recommend to hike only with a guide. From the top of the mountain you have a great view over the south of Morocco and in good weather conditions over the Saharan foothills.

Trekking tours start from the berber village Imlil (1740 m) and takes two days. Tents and other necessities can be rented.

Jebel Saghro:
The jebel Saghro is located southern from Tinghir and part of a mountain range of volcanic origin. It’s appearance is extraordinary and nothing compared to other mountains. It is similar to the “Monkey Fingers” in Dades Valley. 150 km long and 50 km wide it has nearly no population. Therefore due to water and food stocks and frequent occurrence of snakes we recommend to go only with a guide. Starting point can be Boumalne Dades, as there are no bigger cities in the area.
